Fairy House Tour FAQs

A: This is a rain or shine fundraising event. While tickets purchased in advance are good for either day, they are non-refundable. Regardless of the weather, all ticket proceeds support local schools and non-profits.

A: Yes, you can buy tickets at the gate, but there is clearly a time and cost savings associated with purchasing your tickets in advance online.

A. While parking in the Strawbery Banke Museum visitor lot is not available, there is FREE parking on Peirce Island, at the Parrott Avenue lot across from the Gov. Langdon House and on the surrounding streets as available.

A: There will be four entry points to the Fairy House Tour: Strawbery Banke Museum (at either Hancock or Court Streets), Gov. John Langdon House (Pleasant Street) and Prescott Park (Marcy Street). Look for the tall “Entry” flags.

A: Yes, everyone is welcome to come in fairy, gnome or other whimsical costumes. Your imagination will add to the festive atmosphere. Photo opportunities will also be provided to capture special event memories to take home.

A: Children of all ages and from any Seacoast area school are welcome to submit a fairy house for display. All houses must be brought to the Strawbery Banke Museum entrance between 9am-12pm Friday, September 20 to be included in the tour. A sturdy base for all entries is suggested to facilitate placement and display. Removal is requested by 5pm on Sunday.

A: While there is no age limit for Artist Invitational entries, this is a judged event designed to recognize extraordinary work. We will display each submission during the event. The purpose of the Artist Invitational is to show visitors what is possible with some imagination and advanced design skill.

A: Yes! Food will be available at various locations on the event site. Directional signs will indicate where everything from hot dogs and sandwiches to coffee and desserts can be purchased.

A: The final entertainment schedule and site map will be distributed at all the ticket gates upon entry. In general dancing, music and storytelling will be scheduled on the hour and half hour throughout both days, with plenty of repeat performances to ensure every visitor has a chance to enjoy all the shows.
